Ennodius to Avienus. I bless the threefold unity in majesty of our God, which amid my straits has lifted me up, by the gift of our union, in place of perfect health. There came to me a report late indeed, but longed for. May our Redeemer be present and fulfill what, bending low, he has granted to my supplication. My lord, discharging the reverence of my greeting, I ask that you complete the sum of your business concerning that suburban estate together with your kinsman the lord Liberius, with Christ aiding you, so that, if the exchange comes about, he may deign to accept the price, and that we may no longer waver under the uncertainty of the promise, since you know that there is nothing more that you can bestow in this suppliant intercourse of yours with the world.
