We have received the illustrious man, your most reverend bishop, with a grateful heart, not only on account of the honor that is owed to priests, but also on account of our affection for your holiness; for whoever has been approved by your judgment is, in our eyes, judged most thoroughly approved as well. [...] Concerning the work, however, and the favor that is to be conferred upon their most sacred churches, it will then at last be more opportunely determined, when the envoys, whom we are known to have recently sent to the magnificent king Thrasamund, have returned and, by the favor of the Divinity, brought back an answer to us. May your beatitude, moreover, deign to seek for us heavenly protection through your tireless prayers.
