Τῷ ἱερωμένῳ πλοῦτος μὲν ὁ τῆς ἀρετῆς χύτμος, ἡδονὴ δὲ ἡ σωφροσύνη, τρυφὴ δὲ ἡ αὐτάρχεια, εὑ- φροσύνη δὲ ἡ τῶν ὑπηχόων πρὸς ἀρετὴν ἐπίδοσις" εἰ δέ τις τἀναντία τούτων ἐπιτηδεύευν ἱερωσύνης ὀνόματι ἐναδρύνεται, οὗτος ἁνίερος τυγχάνει, χαὶ τῆς ἀρχῆς ἀνάξιος.
