ητόριος οὗτος ἡμῖν ὡμίλησεν, ἐγὼ δὲ ἐφοίτων ὡς τὸν
τοῦδε πατέρα, καὶ γέγονεν ἐμοὶ μὲν δι’ ἐκείνου γνῶναι τοὺς
ποιητάς, τούτῳ δὲ δι’ ἐμοῦ τοὺς ῥήτορας. ἐπίσταται δέ, τίς
μὲν ἐγὼ περὶ σέ, τίς δὲ σὺ πρὸς ἐμέ καὶ γὰρ τῶν ἐν Βιθυνίᾳ
κεκοινώνηκέ μοι διατριβῶν καὶ ὅλως ποιεῖται λόγον τοῦ μη-
δὲν τῶν ἐμῶν ἀγνοεῖν.
οὗτος ἐπ’ Αἰγύπτου πάρεισι γῆν
οὐ πολλήν τινα πατρῴαν παραληψόμενος, ἐκεῖθεν γὰρ ὁ πα-
τὴρ αὐτῷ, μᾶλλον δέ πως εἰς τὴν ὁδὸν παρεκλήθη τῷ τὴν
Παλαιστίνην ὑπὸ σοῦ διοικεῖσθαι.
ὃν δὲ καὶ ἄλλως ἀκού-
σας ἡμέτερον εἶναι μαθητὴν ἡδέως ἂν εἶδες, ποῦ τάξεις ὑφ’
ἡμετέρων σοι προσαγόμενον γραμμάτων;
