I am glad, my child, to receive your letter, but I was grieved that you are in such sufferings, and imprisonment besides; yet since it is for Christ's sake, all things must be endured. But will that senseless disciple and betrayer of the truth, Leontios, leave you the brother who is with you? For he himself has taken over even the Boskytion [a monastery dependency], having drawn it as his lot like Judas the noose; he it is who has hemmed in the brothers within as well, and I think he is doing the same to you. But stand firm, my brother, even unto blood, after the manner of your blessed brothers, that together with them you may be saved in the Lord. Pray for me fervently. Greet the brother.
