Letter 22: Evagrius thanks the patron who gave him the monastic habit and keeps sending comfort.

You have comforted us many times: sometimes through letters, sometimes through the visits of pure brothers. What shall I give back to the Lord, since I have found all this grace with you? It is hard to find a noble father. Yet I glorify our Lord and the day of his resurrection, on which you gave me the holy habit and joined me to the number of the monks. I urge you to pray for me, so that I may fight the good fight and be found worthy of your prayers. Do not grow weary of doing this always for us through pure people who come here. In every circumstance visit us through them. Greet that woman who has labored much in the Lord, and I greet all who are with Your Holiness.
