[...] our [son] Fortunatus, abbot of the monastery of Saint Demetrius, which is situated in this city of Rome, has sent the present bearers, his monks, thither for the recovery of the slaves [...] of his own monastery's right, who are said to be in hiding there, and has petitioned that the support of your Experience ought to be afforded to them. Therefore by this present authority we direct you that, with sound reckoning maintained in all things, you hasten to assist and aid them, so that, with you present there in person and lending your support in this case, they may with all speed be enabled wholesomely to bring to effect, with God as their helper, those things which have been enjoined upon them.
