Οἴμαι μέν σοι τὸν χρηστὸν Μακεδόνιον μηνυτὴν γεγο-
νέναι τῶν τε ἡμετέρων πόνων καὶ τῶν ἀποκρίσεων ἐκείνου.
περὶ γὰρ σοῦ φροντίζων διετέλει καὶ τῶν ἡμετέρων οὐδὲν
ἀγνοῶν.
εἰ δὲ δεῖ σε καὶ παρ’ ἡμῶν ἀκοῦσαι τὰ ῥήματα
αὐτά, γράψομεν. ὧν λεγομένων παρῆν μὲν Εὐστάθιος, οὐκ
ἀπῆν δὲ Ἑρέννιος. ἐγώ φησιν ἐγκαλῶ μὲν οὐδέν, ὁ δὲ
εἰ πέπεικεν αὑτὸν ὡς ἠδίκηκεν, ἐπειδὰν συνέλθω-
μεν, ὁμολογήσεται.
ταυτὶ μὲν ἐκεῖνος, σὺ δ᾿ ἠμῖν τὸν
